1) Go to "system" and "about" on your dingo and press Up, Right, Down, Up, Right, Down. This will get your LCD version which there are only 2.

Then buy either a mini SD card or a micro with a to-mini-adapter and format it to FAT32, even if it came formatted to FAT32, in order to insure you won't have to start over like I did.

Solutions:

I got tired of videos resuming, I wish you could disable the feature. Maybe Dingux will not have this "feature" or be able to be toggled. Until then, I created a temp fix.

"remove-marks.bat"
place in your native root Dingo drive, which can be executed from your computer while connected VIA USB to delete all your video bookmarks, regardless of the folder their in.

I have never had a .vmark file on my computer before, so if you accidentally executed it on your own computer, it shouldn't delete anything, but may take a long time to search. This will list your vmarks as their deleted, if you want to prevent the window for closing after it finishes, just type "pause" without the quotes, under the "del *.vmark /s" line and it will say "press any key to continue"

/Start/ Source Code to remove-marks.bat:

@echo off
del *.vmark /s

/End/ Source Code to remove-marks.bat

You can fold a standard size paper clip to make a stand for it to sit upright on a table for watching a video while you don't want to be holding it, or for showing a group of people a video or for just playing music. Look up the one for the Iphone.

Below is my own invention of re-designing the paperclip stand and making it more secure and higher off the surface to increase sound output. It can also partially collapse.

CAUTION!

Hong Kong Time/Date

Be aware that when you buy from DealExtreme, Chinavasion, China, Hong Kong, Korea, that it can take weeks to months to get your item purchased. Items bought in the US ship to the US a LOT faster. I bought mine from my country so I received it quickly, also if it arrives broken, the longer it took to ship, the longer a return/refund will take.

New Apps (2009) VLC gray video 4/17/2010

.
.
VLC - GRAY VIDEO window (problem solved!)

I was typing and didn't realize I had VLC selected and some setting changed and now my video is solid gray but the right size and has audio, it does this for ALL videos. I looked through the settings and can't find what to do. I did try a few video outputs but had no luck, please help!

"Go to prefrences, video, output modules, advanced and select open GL video output, that should work."

THANKS! IT WORKED!!! VLC now has video once again, no need to re-install. However "Windows GDI Video Output" doesn't have problems with unrelated translucent windows.

Store Hours App (beta 0.11)

I need a good way of knowing when a store is going to open and close, more than this short list. So I came up with a new idea for displaying it and here is what I have programmed so far. It helps me know when certian places are open. Shows me store hours on every day of the week automatically by being updated constantly by the current time and day of the week. If you change the computer time/date, it will update 1 second after changing.

update: 9/16/2009
I fixed the math with the day of the week so now their all lined up perfectly for each day, where as before only Wednesday was lined up perfectly. I wanted to use math to simplify the code, rather than doing "if dayofweek = monday then line2.y1 = exactnumber" 7 times, i had it turn each day of the week into a number and use that number to multiply the distance to the next day of the week.

Update: 9/17/2009
Added a small circle which I decided if it was small enough that filled in white was better than bigger and hollow, and added the ability to attach the name of the store to above the cross-hairs and set them back to normal without causing errors. Current app is 19kb and started out as 14kb. I can shrink the size down by deleting some extra things, but i like them there as options for alternative ways of viewing, in case I decide it was better (which i didn't post images of the change i had previously).

10/6/2009

I have just finished getting a working app I made that tells me every 2 hours to take a break, by using the words in a text box. I need a break now, but i will add more features later.
Here is a sneak preview.

Alpha beta version 2 (10-6-2009)

Alpha Beta Version 5 (10-08-2009)

new version: 10/9/2009
* added code for minutes remaining and also subtracts from the hour (not fully coded yet)
* added minute modifier (and hour modifier)

*updated to include version 0.06 and some minor bug fixes. It still displays an hour more than it should most of the time which I will code later.

MALWARE - I HATE IT

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

http://www.elitekiller.com/malware.htm READ THIS SITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I recommend not going to websites unless you have Firefox with NoScript or Google Chrome and good anti-virus/anti-malware/security/firewall applications. OR you can use SandBoxie and configure it to automatically delete contents of sandbox on exit.

http://www.sandboxie.com/ The ULTIMATE PROTECTION! It's like you never ran the software/browser on the computer. If you got a virus from browsing/downloading/running a program, if it was sandboxie'd you can just delete the sandbox and it is like it never happened! This can be used for FREE!

Scan 1 file with 42 antivirus programs online:
http://www.VirusTotal.com
Perfect for questionable files that MUST be used to run software, otherwise, you can just run it in Sandboxie.

I recommend against downloading and/or installing copies of software to get rid of a virus/malware that cost money but are available for free download which breaks copyright laws. If you want a virus/malware remover, I recommend either paying for it, or using a free version or free alternative. Why: If the application is used to get rid of a virus, and the user wants to infect the downloader, they are likely also able to throw in a virus and modify the code so that the same application is unable to detect the embedded virus. Therefore, I recommend these FREEWARE apps, however, ALWAYS google the software and also google it with words like "is malware" or "virus" and such to MAKE SURE that me or anyone else, isn't trying to get you infected:

(Always update these programs when you download it, and keep checking for new updates until it says there isn't any updates, or else when you scan, you can be wasting your time, because your malware/virus may have come out after they released the version. They can't keep re-compiling their program every single day, so that's why you must update.)

(1>> SpywareBlaster - Automatically blocks known websites that their sole purpose is to distribute spyware and nothing else. Free version requires manual updating every 2-4 weeks, but even if you only update it when you install it, you will be protected more than if you never did, and not updating it will not open you to more risks than if you never installed it and activated protections.

(2>> AVG Antivirus free (Grisoft) - or Avast! Antivirus or others.

(3>> Malwarebytes AntiMalware - New to me, but helped me get rid of malware.

(4>> SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition (be sure to update as soon as you install it.) I had malware on my computer that made my icons load slow and my sound was being disabled after i would exit a game. I got S.A.S.F.E. and it found problems, removed them, and now my PC is back to normal. I suggest you run a complete scan on all drives.

(5>> Zone Alarm free firewall - blocks incoming malware attempts through the internet and helps you decide if you want to allow outgoing traffic of applications, which can help for various things. If you get an unfamiliar program asking to connect to the internet, google it. If it's named like k2hj34kt2j3htk23jht.exe it is likely a virus. you can block applications too or always allow.

(6>> old PeerGuardian 2 - New updated version known as PeerBlock - This is an application which can cause the average user a lot of problems, however, if you learn to use it correctly, and can help keep your computer safer. It can block websites or hosts that you require to connect to in order to do normal things, such as STEAM for gaming, Second Life game, and other gaming websites. You can simply WhiteList those IP's or temporarily disable the service. The way I see it, the more of the internet you have blocked, the safer you are. This blocks near 1,000,000 IP's. If you have problems, try deleting "history.db" and "cache.p2b" because sometimes these cause problems with updating and deleting these files will only delete log files which you do not need and there is a 0.01% chance you will ever look at them anyway. There is also "pgfix.exe" which has a link in the start menu called "Recover PeerGuardian" which will unload the driver, then re-run "pg2.exe" which will load the program back up.
****** DISCONTINUED. Get the NEW Updated versions here PeerBlock

(7>> HOSTS - your HOSTS file allows you to add more blocking. You can make a VIRUS WEBSITE not be able to be gone to on your browser. Here is what my HOSTS file contains which are VIRUS WEBSITES and should be avoided at ALL COSTS! The file is located at "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\" or similar. Make a backup copy of the original and Open it in Notepad to edit.

Plants VS Zombies ultimate Last Stand

Plants VS Zombies. The ultimate setup for Last Stand.
Round one on this side and round 4 on the right side.

Inspired by:
http://www.gamezebo.com/games/plants-vs-zombies/tips-tricks/plants-vs-zombies-tips

So far, this has worked 100% of the time, without the slightly bit of panic for failure, and none of the wallnuts change facial expressions to show significant damage taken. I have been playing with this board a lot, and this is the best strategy i have come up with. With 3 onions, they never make it to the first shooter in a round, so you can place it directly behind the 3rd onion.

I put the ice guys back farther, so that if the onions are bypassed, they have time to kill, I doubt their needed, their just protection + bonus damage + bonus slow.

with 3 onions, it would normally be safe to put your shooters closer
.
but you never know if your going to lose the onions and get ladder guys or something.
and since onions was all i had to replace, there is no need to put them at risk by being closer.

The Last Stand is my favorite one to play, because you are given a set amount of money and set all your defense/offense up before they zombies come. You can also leave money to replace during the zombies going toward you, but there is the normal timed delay, and relying on it, isn't wise because you can not get more sun while playing the level, only between the 4 stages which is only 250.

Rogue removal kit (updated frequently) - A robust kit I put together using some of the finest tools that detect and remove assorted trojans, rootkits (including the nasty CLB & TDL3 variants), and other rogue antivirus/antispyware (Antivirus XP 2008/2009/360, SpywareGuard, Personal Antivirus, Security Tool, etc.). This form of malware includes those with fake security alerts that goad the end user into downloading and/or purchasing rogue software. Please check the README and follow the directions. In addition, do not be alarmed if some programs detect certain executables in this kit as a "Trojan" and/or "RiskTool". AV programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
